Unwound: Leaves Turn Inside You 25th Anniversary Edition on Numero Group
Leaves Turn Inside You is back on vinyl. Numero Group are putting out a 25th anniversary edition of Unwound’s final album, and if you’ve been waiting for a legitimate pressing to come back around, this is it. The original release has been scarce for a long time, and this is the kind of gap that an anniversary edition exists to fill.
The album came out in 2001 and remains one of the most singular records to emerge from that post-hardcore world. It doesn’t sit comfortably in any one genre, pulling from noise rock, shoegaze, and post-rock while arriving somewhere that sounds like none of them specifically. That quality hasn’t faded. If anything it sounds more unusual now than it did at the time.
This is the 25th Anniversary Edition on Numero Group, pressed as a 2xLP. No release date is listed in this announcement, but the preorder is live now at Numero Group’s own store. If you don’t already own this record, there’s no better time to fix that.
