Renascent — The Durutti Column Return with First Album in 15 Years

The Durutti Column are back with a new studio album, their first in over fifteen years. Renascent is built around Vini Reilly’s guitar playing, which has always been the core of what this project does, and the record brings in warm ambient textures, piano, beats, and vocal contributions from Caoilfhionn Rose alongside it.

If you have any history with the band’s earlier records, the names Valuable Passages and The Guitar and Other Machines are reference points the newsletter raises, and they give a fair sense of the sonic territory Renascent occupies. This isn’t a reinvention so much as a return: patient, melodic, and rooted in the kind of guitar work that made Reilly’s reputation.

Renascent is out on London Records on 31st July 2026 and comes in two coloured vinyl editions, both available directly through the band’s own website. At fifteen years between records, this one is worth paying attention to sooner rather than later.
