Mogwai Young Team Remastered: Red Vinyl 2LP Reissue on Chemikal Underground
Mogwai’s 1997 debut Young Team is back, remastered by original engineer Paul Savage and pressed on red vinyl as a 2LP gatefold. The original artwork is intact and a download code is included. This is the record that set out what Mogwai were going to be: the extended builds, the sudden drops in volume, the sense of something very large contained in a very specific set of guitar tones.
Savage remastering his own original work rather than handing it to someone else is meaningful here. He knows exactly what the recording was supposed to sound like, and a fresh remaster at the source rather than a generation removed tends to produce better results than the alternative.
One important caveat: Chemikal Underground cannot currently ship to the EU or North America. If you’re in either of those regions, check with your local shop rather than ordering direct. For everyone else, this is out 30th October 2026 and available now via Bandcamp.
