Fontaines D.C.: Dopamine Chamber — Fifth Album Preorder
Fontaines D.C. have announced their fifth album, Dopamine Chamber, and it sounds like a significant departure. Produced by James Ford and recorded partly in Palermo, the record leans into cold synths, marching drums and 1960s Italian pop strings pulled into something synthetic. Several songs apparently have no guitars at all.
That is a striking creative move for a band whose earlier records were so rooted in a particular post punk guitar vocabulary. Whether it lands will be the conversation of October, but the ambition here seems genuine rather than forced.

It releases on 16th October 2026 through XL Recordings. Vinyl options include a standard LP, a coloured LP, and an indies exclusive on blue marble vinyl — that last one is available through Piccadilly Records. If you are after the blue marble pressing, this is where to go.
