Khudgarzi — Sheherazaad’s Debut Album on Erased Tapes
Sheherazaad’s debut album Khudgarzi arrives on Erased Tapes on 20th November 2026, and the label’s commitment to it is clear from the start — founder Robert Raths worked closely with her on the record’s direction over several years. That kind of sustained attention tends to show up in the finished thing.
Recorded across Brooklyn, London and elsewhere with a cast of over thirty musicians, the album moves through what the label describes as dystopic folk-noir and experimental pop, woven through with South Asian musical traditions: tanbur, santoor, veena and rabab are all in there. It’s a genuinely unusual combination of reference points, and by all accounts it holds together as a coherent piece of work rather than a mood board.
The Dinked Edition is the one to go for if you want something more substantial: limited to 300 copies, it includes a signed A5 postcard, a 20-page lyric book and a numbered sticker. At that edition size it won’t last long once pre-orders open properly. Standard LP is also available for those who just want the music. Piccadilly Records have both.
