Ebbb’s Shallow Hits Is Out Now, And It’s Sharper Than It Sounds On Paper

On paper, Ebbb sound like they could go a lot of ways at once, jagged indie electronic, neo psych, post punk, all with a club leaning production underneath everything. In practice, the combination of Will Rowland’s vocals and Lev Ceylan’s production is what actually holds it together, and Shallow Hits is a genuinely confident first real statement from the pair.

Rowland’s voice is the thing most people mention first, but it’s really the interplay with Ceylan’s production that gives these songs their edge. This isn’t background music. It wants your attention and mostly earns it.

It’s out now on Ninja Tune, available as a standard Coloured LP or as a Dinked Edition, with stock currently split between Norman Records and Piccadilly Records. Worth checking both if you’re specifically after the Dinked pressing, since availability between the two can shift quickly once one starts to sell through.

Get it direct from either retailer rather than waiting for it to show up marked up elsewhere later. And if new releases like this are the kind of thing you want to hear about as they land, our mailing list is free and exactly built for that.
