Post Script — The Fall’s Final Album on Limited White or Black LP
Post Script is being billed as the final Fall album. It is built from material Mark E. Smith worked on before his death in 2018, completed afterwards by Ed Blaney and Simon Archer. None of the band’s later lineup were involved, and Smith never gave his approval for these recordings to be released, which is a significant point of contention among people who have followed The Fall for a long time.
Whether it registers as a genuine Fall record or something adjacent to one is a question you will need to settle for yourself. What is not in dispute is that the source material is real, and the people responsible for completing it are not strangers to the band’s world. It is a complicated listen before you even press play.
