Rocketship: A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness — 30th Anniversary Reissue
Rocketship‘s 1996 debut is one of those records that genuinely defied easy categorisation when it came out. Buzzing organs, spacey interludes, motorik repetition and an indiepop sensibility that put them adjacent to Stereolab and Unrest while sounding like neither. Thirty years on, it still sounds singular rather than dated.
Slumberland have remastered it lovingly for this 30th anniversary edition and pressed it on white and bone swirl vinyl. The LP has already sold out at retail, but Slumberland still have direct copies available through their Bandcamp page.
