Throwing Muses' self-titled debut gets a 40th anniversary reissue on 4AD. Limited oxblood vinyl available now to preorder from Piccadilly Records.
Forty years on from its original release, the debut Throwing Muses album is getting the anniversary treatment from 4AD, and the limited indies exclusive oxblood pressing is the one to go for. This is a record that sits at the root of a whole lineage of guitar music — Kristin Hersh’s early songwriting had a nervous energy and an angular intensity that you can trace forward through the entire 4AD catalogue and beyond.
The oxblood vinyl is an indies exclusive and demand for these tends to move fast, so if you want one at retail price rather than the resale market, a preorder now is the sensible move. There is also a standard black LP available if the coloured pressing sells out before you get there.
