A small number of copies of the How Strange, Innocence anniversary edition have resurfaced. Temporary Residence Ltd. confirmed that one of their distributors located stock of this long out of print 2xLP, pressed in a limited edition Light and Dark Blue Mix vinyl. This pressing has been unavailable at retail for a long time, and copies that do turn up on the secondary market tend to go for significantly more than the original price.
How Strange, Innocence is the Explosions In The Sky debut, originally released before the band had any of the profile that followed. It’s a different kind of record to what came after, rawer and less polished, but that’s exactly what makes it interesting alongside the rest of their catalogue. This anniversary edition is the right way to own it.
Stock is available through the band’s official Bandcamp page and will not last. If you’ve been watching this one for a while, now is the moment. There’s no indication when or whether this pressing will come back around again after this batch is gone.
