Dream pop vinyl
Dream pop sits right next to shoegaze, with less noise and more space: reverb, soft-focus melodies and voices that float rather than push. Cocteau Twins set the template on 4AD in the 1980s, Galaxie 500 and Mazzy Star slowed it down, and Beach House and The Radio Dept. carried it into this century.
Plenty of dream pop records come out in small pressings that go quickly. Here's every dream pop record we've covered, from new pre-orders to long-awaited reissues, with its status and where to buy it at retail price.

A softer, more atmospheric style of indie music that grew out of the 1980s, built on reverb, layered textures and hazy, melodic vocals. Cocteau Twins are usually seen as its starting point.
Good places to start are Heaven or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins, On Fire by Galaxie 500, So Tonight That I Might See by Mazzy Star, Teen Dream by Beach House and Pet Grief by The Radio Dept. Check each record's page for the pressings available now.
Not quite. They share a lot of bands and fans, but shoegaze is louder and more guitar-heavy, while dream pop is gentler and more spacious.
