About Aiko Takahashi

Aiko Takahashi makes ambient music from piano, tape loops and field recordings, working on the border between Gorizia in Italy and Nova Gorica in Slovenia. It Could Have Been A Beautiful came out on IIKKI in 2023, and The Grass Harp, a piano and tape-loop album about decay and silence, followed on LAAPS in 2025. Takahashi also designs artwork for releases.

Two Places At Once, recorded remotely with the Vancouver guitarist Michael Scott Dawson, is out on 6 November 2026 on 180g blue/white split vinyl. It's built around Takahashi's piano loops, which shift slowly so each piece ends somewhere different from where it began.
