Hot Chip's ninth album A Long Way From Kansas is available to preorder now as a 2LP via Domino and Sister Ray, out 8 January 2027.
Hot Chip‘s ninth studio album, A Long Way From Kansas, is up for preorder now ahead of its 8 January 2027 release date on Domino. The title takes a nod from The Wizard of Oz and the record is built around the gap between a world that keeps speeding up and the pull of something that feels grounded. Distortion and decay feature, but the underlying Hot Chip sensibility is still very much there.
It is being released as a 2LP, and preorders are open through two routes: Domino’s own store and Sister Ray in London. Both are reliable options depending on your preference, with Domino running their own exclusive version if that is relevant to your situation.
Nine albums in and Hot Chip remain one of the more interesting bands operating in this space. A Long Way From Kansas looks like it is going to be a more textured and stranger record than some of their earlier work, which is reason enough to preorder rather than wait and see.
