Gilla Band's fourth album Pugnello is out now on Rough Trade. Industrial drums, glitched production and noise-rock discord — available on LP and coloured vinyl.
Gilla Band‘s fourth album is out now, and it is exactly what you would hope for from a band who have spent years refining the art of controlled sonic discomfort. Pugnello is on Rough Trade in both standard and coloured LP variants, and it marks another step forward for Dublin’s most visceral noise-rock act.
The record leans into industrial drum loops and glitched, shadowy production, with guitar work that has no interest in giving the listener an easy footing. What makes it work is the contrast — the moments where things pull back hit differently because of everything surrounding them.
Both the standard LP and the coloured variant are available now via Piccadilly Records. Four albums in and Gilla Band are still finding new angles. That is not a small thing.
