About Rough Trade

Rough Trade Records grew out of Geoff Travis's record shop off Ladbroke Grove in London, which opened in 1976; the label followed in 1978. Its early releases included The Fall, Cabaret Voltaire, Young Marble Giants, The Raincoats and The Smiths, and later The Strokes, The Libertines, Arcade Fire and Black Midi.

It is run by Geoff Travis and Jeannette Lee and is part of Beggars Group.

We list 21 Rough Trade vinyl releases, from artists including The Veils, Disco Inferno and Black Country, New Road. Most of them are post-rock, indie and shoegaze records. The release dates run from 1992 to 2026. 12 are reissues or anniversary editions of older albums. Rough Trade records have featured in 2 issues of the Surface Noise Weekly.
