About this record
Widely regarded as one of Can’s finest ever performances, this concert at the Roman Théâtre Antique in Arles featured the core four of Schmidt, Karoli, Liebezeit and Czukay, and took place as part of a festival that also included Nico and Kevin Ayers. The band themselves reportedly consider it among their best. On vinyl for the first time, this is not a completist footnote, it’s a document worth owning.
