What is the difference between the Happy Tears 2LP and 4LP?

The 2LP has 13 tracks, from "Yes! I Am A Long Way From Home" to "Underground" with Iggy Pop. The limited 4LP has those 13 plus 13 more, including a live "Ether" with The KNDS Fairey Band, remixes by Holden and Other Two, and a live "Mogwai Fear Satan".

Is "Underground" with Iggy Pop available on vinyl?

Yes. Happy Tears is the first physical release of "Underground" (feat. Iggy Pop), and it is on both the 2LP and the limited 4LP.

About this record

Happy Tears is Mogwai’s 30-year, career-spanning compilation, and it comes out on Rock Action Records, the label the band own and run themselves. The timing is neat: their debut single “Tuner” came out on Rock Action in 1996, so the label turns 30 alongside them.

The big draw is “Underground”, Mogwai’s long-hoped-for pairing with Iggy Pop, which appears on a physical format here for the first time. The compilation also includes a single that was previously digital-only, and “Brand New Paths to Helicon 1”, a new reworking of a Mogwai classic recorded with the Budapest Art Orchestra and orchestrated by Adam Wiltzie (A Winged Victory For The Sullen, Stars Of The Lid).

There are two vinyl editions, both on yellow/black vinyl. The 2LP has 13 tracks spanning the band’s catalogue. The limited 4LP doubles that to 26, adding live recordings, remixes by Holden and Other Two, and a live “Mogwai Fear Satan”.
