About the newsletter
One email a week with the new vinyl pressings, reissues, pre-orders and back-in-stock alerts worth knowing about, each with a link to buy from the artist, label or record shop at retail price.
Once a week, at the weekend.
A handful of featured records, each with the format, colour, edition, release date and a short note on why it's worth a look. Then a list of everything else worth knowing about that week. Read the latest issue →
Shoegaze, post-rock, dream pop, indie, post-punk, ambient and the scenes around them, plus the occasional bigger record that fans of those scenes tend to love anyway.
Anything that isn't vinyl, so no CDs, cassettes or downloads. No second-hand copies or resale listings. If we can't find somewhere to buy a record new, it doesn't go in.
By hand, every week, from label and shop mailing lists, social media and our own digging. A record only goes in if it's on vinyl, you can order it, there's a link to buy, and it's worth knowing about. How Surface Noise chooses records →
To the artist, the label or a record shop, at retail price.
We link to wherever the artist or label is selling the record, which is mostly shops in the UK and the US. Many ship internationally, but shipping rules and costs change, and some shops have recently limited where they send. Check the shop's delivery options before you order.

About Surface Noise
Limited pressings often sell out before most people hear about them, then reappear on resale sites for several times the price. Our Vinyl Report found shoegaze records reselling for 473% more than retail on average. We'd rather you heard about the next one in time.
