Matt Berninger's Type It Up EP lands December 4 on Concord as a limited hot pink 12". Three originals, two covers, and a bonus Australia live cut exclusive to vinyl.
Matt Berninger, frontman of The National, has a new EP coming on December 4 through Concord. Type It Up is three new originals plus two covers, pressed on limited hot pink 12″ vinyl. The preorder is live at Sister Ray now.
The vinyl pressing adds a bonus acoustic live cut recorded in Australia, which is not available elsewhere and gives the physical edition a reason to exist beyond the standard release. If you want a preview before committing, the focus track is “Ask For Water”, which comes with a video directed by Chris Sgroi, Berninger’s regular visual collaborator.
Five tracks on a hot pink 12″ with a bonus cut exclusive to vinyl is a solid proposition for a standalone EP release. If you follow Berninger’s solo work alongside his National output, this is a straightforward one to add to the preorder list ahead of December.
