Skepta‘s The Fork and Knife is coming on November 6 through Epic, pressed on clear and black 2LP vinyl. The preorder is available now at Sister Ray.
This is not a shoegaze record, and the newsletter is upfront about that. But grime, garage and jungle have always sat alongside indie and post-rock in certain collections, and this is a release worth knowing about if yours is one of them. Skepta moves through those sounds across two records while drawing on his experience as a British-born son of Nigerian immigrants, treating that position as a source of strength rather than a subject of hardship.
The clear and black vinyl pressing is the standard edition for this release. At a double LP, there is room for the record to move through different moods and tempos, which has always been where Skepta is at his most interesting. Available to preorder at Sister Ray ahead of the November release date.
