Soft Science's fifth album Sand is out now on Spinout Nuggets, pressed on orange LP. Dreampop expanded into post-punk and darkwave territory — available from Piccadilly Records.
Soft Science have been building something quietly and consistently out of Northern California for years, and Sand, their fifth album, is where the frame gets wider. The dreampop foundation is still there but this record pulls in post-punk and darkwave in a way that adds real edge without stripping out the melodic intelligence that has always defined them.
It is the kind of shift that makes sense in hindsight — not a reinvention, more like a natural step toward something they were always heading for. Rooted in atmosphere and emotional depth throughout.
Out now on Spinout Nuggets, pressed on orange LP. Available from Piccadilly Records.
