The National’s Boxer gets the Mobile Fidelity treatment
Few records defined the last twenty years of literate, widescreen indie rock quite like Boxer. It’s the album that turned The National into one of the genre’s most trusted names, and Matt Berninger into one of its most distinctive lyricists.
Mobile Fidelity is now pressing the 2007 record as a 180g 45RPM 2LP, sourced from the original master — the kind of audiophile treatment that gives Berninger’s baritone and the record’s slow-building arrangements real room to breathe.
It’s a strictly limited run: 3,000 numbered copies, pre-order open now, shipping October 9, 2026.
As always — pre-order direct from Mobile Fidelity or your local independent shop. A limited numbered pressing like this is exactly the kind of release resellers love to flip; don’t let them.
Surface Noise tracks new pressings, reissues and back-in-stock alerts from independent labels and record stores. [Subscribe free →]
