Surface Noise Weekly: Mogwai, Molotovs, System of a Down, Clinic, Sheherazaad, Pet Shop Boys & More
Issue 13 — September 2026
New vinyl you need to know about
Clinic return with their tenth album on Domino, Sheherazaad announces a striking debut on Erased Tapes, and Light Conductor closes out the kosmische trilogy for Constellation. Mogwai’s Young Team and Come On Die Young both land back on coloured vinyl this week, System of a Down mark twenty five years of Toxicity with a rare bonus track finally in the tracklist, and Pet Shop Boys press their Alan Turing work onto an exclusive green and orange 2LP. There’s also a red marble pressing from The Molotovs and a yellow vinyl repress of Fila Brazillia’s Black Market Gardening.

Sequence ThreeLight Conductor Constellation — 25th September 2026 — 180g LP The third and final part of a kosmische trilogy that Electronic Sound called “fabulous, epic, shimmeringly radiant” and Uncut called “heavyweight analogue synth nirvana.” If you have Sequence One or Two you know what this is; if you don’t, Constellation is also offering a three-album bundle at 25% off, which is the sensible entry point. Pressed on 180g, housed in a 20pt jacket with UV inks on reverse board, includes a 12″x24″ poster. Preorders shipping ahead of street date from Montreal. |

KhudgarziSheherazaad Erased Tapes — 20th November 2026 — LP / Dinked Edition LP A debut that Erased Tapes clearly believe in deeply — the label’s Robert Raths worked closely with her on its direction for years. Dystopic folk-noir and experimental pop laced with South Asian musical traditions including tanbur, santoor, veena and rabab, recorded across Brooklyn, London and beyond with a cast of over thirty musicians. The Dinked Edition includes a signed A5 postcard, 20-page lyric book, numbered sticker and is limited to 300 copies. A singular record from a singular new voice. |

Wild in the StreetsClinic Domino — 30th October 2026 — Coloured LP (Blue, Domino Mart exclusive with photo print and printed inner sleeve) Their tenth album and by all accounts they haven’t mellowed. Domino describe it as twelve songs marked by urgency, surreal wordplay and trademark wit, and Blackburn says the record is deliberately “outsider-ish.” The Domino Mart exclusive is on blue vinyl and comes with an exclusive photo print and printed inner sleeve. Norman Records also have a standard coloured LP available if the Mart edition sells through. |

Ten tracks in, this is a band moving fast from grassroots gigs to arena support slots, and this red marble pressing is the limited indies-only version if you want it on wax. |

Toxicity 25th Anniversary Edition VinylSystem of a Down November 20th 2026 — LP + 7″ (D2C Exclusive, variant 1 of 2) The full album plus a 7 inch of “Johnny,” a track that had only ever turned up as a bonus on rare 2001 editions, with a custom etched B side and a double sided poster. The packaging also fixes a longstanding error, correctly naming the hidden closing track “Der Voghormia,” an Armenian hymn the band performs live to remember the 1.5 million lost in the 1915 genocide. Black Market GardeningFila Brazillia October 16, 2026 — Ltd. 250 Yellow Vinyl Third album from the Hull duo Steve Cobby and David McSherry, and by most accounts their creative peak: nine tracks moving between hazy trip hop, cosmic synths, breakbeats and even a touch of drum n bass. This 30th anniversary edition is 250 individually numbered copies on yellow vinyl, so it won’t sit around. |
