Cliff Martinez: Drive Soundtrack — 15th Anniversary 2LP Reissue
Fifteen years since Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive reshaped expectations of what a film score could do, Lakeshore Records are pressing Cliff Martinez‘s synth driven soundtrack in a collector’s edition 2LP alongside reissues of the earlier 5th and 10th anniversary versions. College, Electric Youth and Chromatics all appear on the record alongside Martinez’s own compositions.
This is one of those soundtracks that crossed fully out of its film context and into the collections of people who had no particular attachment to cinema. The music stands on its own, and it has done so consistently for a decade and a half.
