The Thermals‘ third album turns twenty this year, and Sub Pop are marking it with an opaque red vinyl pressing that ships from 18th September 2026. The Body, The Blood, The Machine was the moment the Portland trio widened their lens considerably, bringing in walls of guitar and organ without sanding away the scrappiness that made their earlier records worth caring about.
It still holds up as their most ambitious swing, and the opaque red pressing is a good reason to replace a worn copy or pick it up for the first time. Orders go through the Sub Pop Mega Mart via Bandcamp. The anniversary gives it a moment of attention again, and rightly so.
