Low’s Secret Name is back in print on 28th August via Kranky, arriving as a 2LP. It is one of the cornerstones of the slowcore canon, the kind of record that rewards patience and rewards it differently each time you sit with it.
Twelve tracks spread across four sides, with Sparhawk, Parker and Sally bringing in strings, piano and timpani to thicken arrangements that never lose the hush at their centre. The orchestration doesn’t push the record toward drama so much as it deepens the stillness already there.
