Xiu Xiu‘s La Forêt is back on vinyl for the first time in fifteen years, arriving on 25th September via 5RC on a limited Jade Eco Mix LP. It is one of the quieter, stranger corners of Jamie Stewart’s catalogue, which is saying something given the breadth of what surrounds it.
The record draws on post punk, gamelan and noise, held together by Stewart’s songwriting in a way that feels less confrontational than some of their work and more genuinely unsettling for it.
