Interpol weave synths, strings, acoustic guitars and layered percussion into their brooding post-punk framework without reinventing themselves. That restraint is the point, this is refinement rather than reinvention, and the signed indies exclusive copies at Piccadilly are worth moving on quickly. The brooding atmospheric quality that made Turn on the Bright Lights essential is still very much present.
