The album whereTalk Talkstarted becoming something else entirely, before Spirit of Eden, before Laughing Stock, this was the pivot. A half-speed master of this particular record is a genuinely worthwhile proposition: the space and detail in Mark Hollis’s arrangements rewards the format. Forty years on and it still sounds like nothing else made in 1986. The kind of reissue that justifies owning a good turntable.
