Caspian — Self-Titled New Album Out Now on Wax Bodega
Six years is a long time to wait, and Caspian have returned with a self-titled record that earns that patience. The album is available now via Wax Bodega on your choice of Peach Vinyl or Coke Bottle Clear LP, and both variants are the kind of thing you want on a shelf rather than a hard drive.
The record moves the way Caspian records always have — slow accumulation, weight arriving when you least expect it — but there are moments here that suggest a band finding new angles within a sound they have spent twenty years making their own. The nine-minute “Remain” and the tremolo-driven “No One Left to Tell” are essential listening, and the closing “Waltz for the End” in 3/4 time signals this is not simply a return to familiar ground.
If you have followed them since the Tertia era or came in later through The Four Trees, this record sits comfortably alongside the best of their catalogue. Pick your colour and go directly to Bandcamp where they have stock now.
