New vinyl you need to know about
Queens of the Stone Age are back with their ninth album and there are clear vinyl variants already in motion. William Basinski returns with his first new record in six years, pressed on New Gamboge coloured vinyl and limited to two per customer. Deakin’s debut solo record gets its 10th anniversary reissue on purple vinyl, Ugly’s Windmill Scene art-rock debut lands with a Dinked Edition pressed on clear glass with cyan accents, and Arab Strap return with Half-Told Tales recorded alongside Paul Savage. Elsewhere, Chelsea Wolfe, Emma Ruth Rundle, Sing-Sing, Dry Cleaning, The Oscillation and a run of Pixies remasters all surface this week.

PerfecthQueens of the Stone Age Matador — 30th October 2026 — LP (Black) / Coloured LP (Clear, indie retail exclusive) / Deluxe Limited Edition LP (gatefold with handwritten lyrics, stationary and bespoke art) Nine songs mapping different registers of love, from the lurching centrepiece “Insignificant Other” to the mono-to-stereo swerve of “Mono.” Produced by Homme and Michael Shuman, it is moody, menacing, tender and strange in roughly equal measure. The deluxe edition is exclusive to the QOTSA and Matador webstores and is the one with the most to it. The clear indie exclusive will move fast at retail. |

Passing the Cup of SorrowsWilliam Basinski Temporary Residence Ltd. — 23rd October 2026 — LP, New Gamboge coloured vinyl, limited, limit two per customer His first new album in six years, built from a single forty-minute piece for solo piano and subtle electronics inspired by the concept of “passing the cup of sorrows” in past-life regression therapy. It channels Morton Feldman’s asymmetrical patterns into something quietly devastating, slow-moving and eerie in equal measure. The per-customer limit tells you what you need to know about how quickly this will go. |

Half-Told TalesArab Strap Rock Action — 4th September 2026 — 2xLP / 2xColoured LP / 2xSigned Coloured LP Recorded with Paul Savage, who produced Mogwai, Belle and Sebastian and Franz Ferdinand, this is Moffat and Middleton at their most range-spanning — from quiet brooding to what they describe as a “disco-metal incantation.” Signed coloured copies are available direct, and on a Rock Action release they will not hang around. The kind of record this audience has been waiting for. |

Sleep Cycle (10th Anniversary Edition)Deakin Domino — 18th September 2026 — LP, limited edition purple vinyl The Animal Collective member’s debut solo album, originally from 2016, returns on purple vinyl. Built around cycles of fear and self-doubt, it sits in its own unhurried space — more meditative than anything AC were doing at the time. If you missed it the first time around, this anniversary pressing is the cleanest route in. Purple cassette also available if that’s your format. |

The South FacadeUgly Ugly — 23rd October 2026 — LP / Dinked Edition 435 LP (Clear Glass with Cyan accent vinyl, postcard, album stems download, 10″ x 10″ screen printed art print, limited to 400) The debut from the Cambridge art-rock sextet whose stock has been rising steadily through the Windmill Scene. The Dinked Edition is the one to move on — clear glass with cyan accent vinyl, a screen-printed art print, and a stems download, all capped at 400 copies. It was a Norman bestseller the week it was announced and the edition count reflects that. |

The DarkChelsea Wolfe Evil Greed — LP Chelsea Wolfe’s new album, described by the artist as a record about admitting you’ll never have it figured out and finding a way to be at peace with that. It is simultaneously a reconnection with her own instincts and a step away from her comfort zone. Given where her last few records have gone sonically, that is saying something. Order direct from Evil Greed to keep the money where it should be. |

Ghosts of American PsychonautsBonnie “Prince” Billy Domino — 18th September — LP Recorded live in LA over Valentine’s Day weekend 2025, right after the fires, this pulls songs from The Purple Bird alongside deep cuts from the wider Bonnie “Prince” Billy songbook. The backing band is stacked, Emmett Kelly, Ryder McNair, Patrick Shiroishi and others among them, and Dave Ferguson, who produced The Purple Bird, steps up to sing on “Downstream.” Closes with a live “I See a Darkness,” which feels like the point of the whole thing. |

Sweet Home, Go!Wang Wen Space Circle — 2026 10th Anniversary Reissue — Double Colored Vinyl Ten years on, Wang Wen’s first album with producer Wouter, made during one of the coldest weeks that winter in Dalian, gets a proper anniversary treatment. Longtime collaborator Lu Tao redesigned the packaging, with a photo frame special edition and colorful sleeve material the band says recalls old three color film TV screens. A genuinely personal reissue rather than a cash grab repress. |
